I have a Yorkie Poo who has a continuous yeast infection, he itches so bad that I have to keep shirts on him to prevent him from breaking his skin. I have tried everything from shots to pills . Than I discovered Great Lakes Food from a friend . My dog loves it and now itches 50% less!

We purchased the Grain-Free Pork & Chicken for Dogs of All Life Stages and we are very pleased with the product. While it appears to be a premium priced dry dog food, each serving is less than the other dry dog foods (less backyard mess as well). Our four year old dog converted from pedigree wet dog food without any complaints. We had tried other dry dog foods and our dog went on a hunger strike! We are very pleased with this product as it is significantly less expensive than the wet dog foods.

Why Pork?

Pork has the highest digestibility of most all protein sources for dogs. This is the reason we started with pork as our first recipe and why it will always remain our foundation formula. The anatomical makeup of dogs shows that they are carnivores and that is precisely why grain-free is your best option.

Our Grain-Free Pork dog food is the best health-promoting formula for your pup or dog.  All of our products are grain-free and this formula has no chicken protein.  Chicken protein is different from chicken fat and it’s the protein where chicken allergies stem from.  So if your dog has allergies or sensitives this formula is especially for you.

A Frenchie that eats our pork formula secretly started sneaking into cat food that was grain-free but had chicken protein.  He broke out with terrible skin issues resulting in a trip to the vet for treatment.  The cat food was placed out of reach on the counter and he went back to only getting the pork formula and he since has had no issues.

Why Add Supplements?

Quality supplements insure your pet has what it nutritionally needs for health and vitality at all life stages. Chelated minerals possess increased bioavailability and are better absorbed in the digestive system.  They may be hard to pronounce, but they are healthy for your pet.  For more information, see Frequently Asked Questions.
